Codes and Approvals
Meeting standards and building code requirements
SOPREMA is committed to ensuring our products meet industry standards and building code requirements. Our technical team works diligently with regulatory agencies, testing labs, and approval organizations to ensure our systems comply with local, state, and national codes.
Codes and Approvals
The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (FDBPR) publish Florida building Code compliance evaluation reports prepared by Florida Registered Professional Engineers under the governance of Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.) Rule 61G20-3, resulting in Florida Product Approval through the Florida Building Code Information System (BCIS). By rule, quality assurance surveillance is completed by a 3rd party, FBC Listed Quality Assurance Entity. At a minimum, these Evaluation Reports are subject to re-evaluation with each code cycle (every 3 years). These reports demonstrate compliance with the Florida Building Code and are offered by SOPREMA to customers for their review and acceptance to demonstrate compliance with the IBC and other jurisdictional codes that also require FM 4474 wind uplift resistance testing. The public may view or download these reports from the BPR website (https://floridabuilding.org/pr/pr_app_srch.aspx). Login information is not required.
Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance (NOA) is a county product approval process. The NOA documents published on-line are offered by SOPREMA to customers for their review and acceptance, and to demonstrate compliance with wind resistance requirements for Florida High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ) areas in south Florida. Miami-Dade NOA’s may be accepted by other jurisdictions; however, acceptance is at the discretion of the local authority and/or design professional. Click here for Product Control Search.

NEMO ETC. has a Directory of Evaluations available on their WEBSITE. The Directory is broken into two (2) sub-directories.
1.) PEER – Professional Engineer Evaluation Reports: P.E. Evaluation Reports (PEER) are code compliance evaluation reports prepared by Florida Registered Professional Engineers under the governance of Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.) Rule 61G20-3, resulting in Florida Product Approval through the Florida Building Code Information System (BCIS). By rule, quality assurance surveillance is completed by a 3rd party, FBC Listed Quality Assurance Entity.
2.) RSAR – Roof System Assessment Reports: Roof System Assessment Reports (RSAR) constitute a summary of allowable products and interfaces used in low-slope roof assemblies-based testing in accordance with CSA A123.21 at the NEMO ETC. ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory.
Reports are available at https://www.nemoetc.com/nemoevaluationdirectory
NEMO Cert is an ISO/IEC 17065 accredited body that provides certification services for building envelope products and systems. SOPREMA, RESISTO and CHEM LINK brand products are listed in the “Directory of Certified Products” certifying products conform to standards, building codes and proprietary requirements as indicated.
NEMO Certifications are available at:

ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) is the industry leader in performing technical evaluations of building products, materials and systems for code compliance. Due to its diligence and unparalleled engineering experience, ICC-ES is the most widely accepted evaluation agency in the nation. Agencies use evaluation reports to help determine code compliance and enforce building regulations; manufacturers use reports as evidence that their products (and this is especially important if the products are new and innovative) meet code requirements and warrant regulatory approval.

The SM Transparency Catalog brings you all the brands that have products with disclosures required to meet product transparency credits and criteria in green building rating systems.
Product transparency credits have been created to reward manufacturers for conducting two types of technical studies and disclosing the findings. Therefore, the catalog listings are organized by these two types of disclosures:
-
-
Environmental performance
-
Material ingredients
-
ALL the products listed in the catalog meet the eligibility requirements for one or both types of credits in one or more of the programs. The key attributes of each disclosure type are displayed so that you can learn something about the scope and results 'in a glance'.
