Roofing Replacement
American Airlines Center – Dallas, Texas
On March 21, 2022, a leaky roof on Dallas’ American Airlines Center delayed the start of an NBA game between the hometown Mavericks and the Minnesota Timberwolves. After the issue surfaced again a couple of months later to interfere with a Mavs playoff game, quick action was needed to replace the building’s 20-year-old roof. KPost Roofing & Waterproofing was trusted to complete the high-profile project with tight offseason deadlines and, in turn, KPost trusted SOPREMA products to protect the 20,000 people who squeeze into the arena for basketball and hockey games, concerts, and numerous other events. Local media and residents watched with fascination as a staggering volume of SOPREMA products was delivered to the jobsite by helicopter, including 661 pails of SENTINEL® S Bonding Adhesive, 309 rolls of 80-mil SENTINEL P200 (covering 200,000 square feet), 8,500 pieces of SOPRA-ISO® insulation, and nearly 7,000 kilograms of ALSAN® RS products to help with the detail and flashing work. SENTINEL PVC products were an ideal fit for the American Airlines Center, thanks to their ability to conform to the uniquely-shaped roof of the building, not to mention their proven fire and chemical resistance properties, and their energy-saving reflectivity (a crucial benefit under the Texas sun). With the new roof fully installed, this municipal centerpiece is prepared to adequately serve its community for decades to come.
